Hi Kimmy- Yes, the dishwasher vent is located on the top left corner of the control panel. Styrofoam is placed in the vent area on the dishwasher door to prevent moisture from the steam and humidity from dripping. While all dishwashers feature a rinse aid dispenser, rinse agent is recommended but not required. Using a rinse agent is important, especially in hard water areas. A rinse agent breaks down the surface tension of water, improving water flow off the dishes. This reduces drying time as well as water spotting and streaking. Thanks for choosing GE! SUEatGEA
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just installed the second one of these yesterday, and the answer is definitely yes. Steam emerges from the top left door grate condenses into a small puddle (a few drops) directly below the grate onto the floor in front of the door. Since I was concerned about leaks following my installation, I initially was concerned about the puddle. Then I realized the source of the water droplets and relaxed - no water supply line or drain hose leaks after all!
