Hi Colorado - Thanks for reaching out to us regarding the dishwasher racks. We are sorry to this and know you must be frustrated. Shallow items such as cups and small glasses should be loaded along the sides or less deeps areas of the upper rack. Tall, deep glasses, should be loaded in deeper areas of the upper rack, and placed so that they rest firmly against the tines. We encourage you to view pages 14-19 of the Owner's Manual for loading tips/illustrations: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-55119-2.pdf - DISHWASHER - LOADING TIPS: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=38921 - Replacing the upper rack with a rack from a different model will not change the load. We hope the loading illustrations in the manual are helpful. Keep in touch! Sue
