It took me about two minutes of continuous pressing for the water to start coming out. The installers did mention that to me, I don't know why your installers didn't tell you that. They also left my owners manual... inside the fridge!!! LOL! I guess you should start looking for yours inside the shelves.

Here's the link to the Use and Care Manual (See pages 16 and 34): https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-60646-6.PDF - Make sure the control panel is not locked. Press Lock Controls pad for 3 seconds to lock or unlock. If no water is dispensed when the refrigerator is first installed (water valve turned on), there may be air in the water line system. Press the dispenser arm for at least two minutes to remove trapped air from the water line and to fill the water system. To flush out impurities in the water line, throw away the first six glassfuls of water. Also, the dispenser and the icemaker will not operate without the filter or filter bypass plug installed (See pages 8-9). Here's a troubleshooting link- REFRIGERATOR - NO WATER FROM DISPENSER: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=34232 - We hope this is helpful.
