“Is this a stainless steal "slate" or is it made of something else?”

Hello JDA - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. This is a beautiful refrigerator. The Slate color is a highly engineered, low-gloss matte metallic paint finish and will hold a magnet. The sides and case are Dorian Gray (dark gray). The handles are stainless steel. No, the cabinet of this model is not stainless steel.
