“Installed in camper.When plugged into shore power the unit will stay running and keep the camper cool. When plugged into a 2000w generator with a 10ft electrical cord while camping runs 4 minutes off 3minutes ect. Is this normal or a power problem?”

You may want to check the rating plate information to make sure the generator you’re using has enough power to cover the unit, including the extra ‘surge power’ the air conditioner will use when the compressor cycles on. We suggest checking an article on our GE Appliances website titled 'Running an Appliance on a Generator'; you can find that by going to our website, searching for the title and clicking the Support tab in the search results. Please note we also don’t recommend using an extension cord with our air conditioner, for safety reasons and to avoid risk of fire.
