We removed it because it wasn’t draining. You have to make sure you have it positioned so it slants slightly back a little. That’s what we did and it ran quieter and drained. Before we did that it was draining water onto my son’s window sill. If that doesn’t help then I would return it. Exchange it for a new one. Or buy a different model. Just don’t get a portable one we have one of those for the dining room it’s a big one and it’s a pain in the you know what.

The rubber plug on the bottom can be removed to minimize water from the back of the unit, but removing it will lower the efficiency of the unit. The unit drains water by using the moisture gathered to cool the condenser. Excess water is usually drained by dripping water outside. Thanks for being part of the GE family! Mike@GEA
