“New unit - immediately began rattling while the AC is running (does not make the noise when only the fan is running). When I lightly push against the front of the frame where the filter is, the noise stops. How can I make this stop permanenately?”

Hi Tyler - Thanks for reaching out to us and for choosing GE! We are sorry to hear of the "rattling" sound and apologize for any concern this has caused. You may want to remove and reinstall the filter. Inspect the louvers to confirm they are not broken. With window units, improper installation can cause vibration in the window sill. Check the Installation Instructions for proper installation guidelines: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-5000461.pdf - If you hear a ticking or pinging noise, this may be from the slinger ring normal operation. All room air conditioners have a "slinger ring" around the rear fan blade. The ring is designed to pick water up off the bottom of the pan and throw it against the condenser coils. This design feature helps improve the efficiency of the unit by reducing heat on the coils, and helps remove moisture from the pan.
