Look elsewhere, this is anything but quiet. Listed as 56db "adjusted", not sure what that means but it sounded very loud when I used it. Just got a u shaped ac and it's at 40ish db and it's much quieter than this unit since all the noise making components have more separation. This unit has very little insulation so you hear all the outside components.

Room air conditioners list decibel ratings in the specifications when they are available. In general, if they are not listed, there is not a decibel (or Sone) rating available. They are not all rated for sound performance. With residential air conditioners, sound levels are actually more dependent on installation factors (Type, Location, Mounting) than on the sound produced by the unit. Take care! -Sylvia@GEA
