• You do not have to use the side panels. You will need a screwdriver to install the top rail. It is not clear in the description but this a/c never turns off.

The air conditioner can be installed without the side curtain panels if needed to fit in a narrow window and will depend on the window size. We recommend you check out page 11 of the owner's manual found on our website for more information. Page 9 will detail information regarding the tools you will need for installation.
