You must have a window to vent the AC. As long as the window goes up and down or side to side you’ll be fine. It would need lots of adapting to put in a window that goes tilted out.

We suggest viewing page 11 of the Installation Guide for window requirements: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-5000440-1.pdf - Also, the air conditioning process is basically moving warm humid air outside so the hoses are designed primarily to move heat and humidity from a room. These units are sold with a 5' exhaust vent hose with a 5” inch diameter. Operating the unit without an exhaust vent will not allow heat and humidity to be removed from the room. The unit will not function properly without an exhaust vent. Additionally the unit must be vented outdoors, not into an attic or other indoor space. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue
