“Does the water from condensation have to be emptied?”

yes. i haven’t had to empty it yet, but I believe that it will beep/notify you when it’s full.

I don’t think so unless it fills up and I think it would display an error and not cool until it was emptied. Also if you are going to store the unit you should empty it out then.
