Q: QuestionMy Ice maker seems to be frozen at the point of dispensing. What is the best way to defrost the opening to allow the ice to freely come out? Also, can I get an electronic copy of my product user guide? .

• A:Answer Hello Byron - Thank you for reaching out about your refrigerator. We are sorry to hear the dispenser is not working properly. Ice may occasionally jam in the ice chute. If this occurs, open the left refrigerator door, open the ice box door on the inside of the left door, then remove the ice bucket. Place a container in the dispenser recess on the outside of the door. Using a wooden spoon, push the ice out of the chute into the container in the recess. • A:Answer Hi Yonts - Thanks for considering GE® ENERGY STAR® 27.8 Cu. Ft. French-Door Refrigerator GFE28GSKSS! This model has Space Saving Ice, which is an icemaker located on the left fresh food door. The icemaker makes approximately 3.6 lbs. per day and the bucket stores 3.8 lbs. of ice that can be dispensed through dispenser on the door or by removing the ice bucket from the door. You can always have plenty of ice on hand by adding optional second icemaker IM5D (sold separately). IM5D makes 2.6 lbs. per day and the bucket holds 2.6 lbs. The kit includes the icemaker, bucket, fill tube, water valve, and installation instructions. Q: QuestionWhy does the price vary so much from one color to the next? Some colors are in the $1500s while others are nearly double that. I could see maybe $100 difference if some colors are harder to get right but $1000? That's hard to swallow.

Q: QuestionDoes this refrigerator have a split shelf than can slide to allow a tall item to fit (large pitcher, 2 litre, wine bottle, etc) temporarily? The smaller 25.6 cubic ft version seems to, but the pictures on this model don't show it.

• A:Answer Hi TRAM - Refrigerator door stops help prevent damage to adjacent walls, cabinets, and the refrigerator door. They allow the door to open wide enough for normal pan removal. They are included on all models, but are not in plain sight. They are located in the hinge system at the bottom of the door. The door stops is set to 150 degrees and cannot be adjusted to another position. If the door opens to a full 180 degrees, service may be needed. Q: QuestionWhat are the running amps? What are the startup amps? We know a 15 amp dedicated circuit is required, but that is not the actual energy use. We need actual energy information for appliances to install a proper whole house generator.

• A:Answer Hi - Yes, the refrigerator is Sabbath Mode Capable. On French-Door and Bottom Freezer refrigerators manufactured April 2018 and after, the interior lighting during Sabbath Mode has changed. The LED fresh foods lights stay on during Sabbath mode so that you can still see your food. The lighting is dimmed though, and will stay on continuously regardless of whether the door is opened or closed. The lights are LED lights, so they do not put off heat like incandescent or compact fluorescent bulbs. The LED lights do not add heat to the refrigerator compartment and are long lasting. Q: QuestionHello- just purchased this for the holidays, so far enjoy it but somewhat surprised there isn’t a reservoir to catch water drippage when using the dispenser. Does GE make a part for this?

• A:Answer Hi Awwphooey - Thanks for choosing GE! We're glad to have you in the family. It is not unusual to see a few drops of water dripping from the dispenser after having dispensed water. This is caused by pressure on the water line and changes in temperature causing some condensation to form and drip. The dispenser recess grill will catch this water. To stop dispensing, release pressure from cradle, withdrawing slowly to catch last bits of water. The grate on the dispenser recess grill will need to be removed periodically and wiped dry. If water continues to drip long after the glass has been removed, service may be necessary. • A:Answer Hi Bin- We are sorry to hear of the difficulty with the ice dispenser and glad to help. If no ice is dispensed, remove the ice bucket and check for clumps of ice stuck together. The clumps can usually be pulled from the bucket and discarded. Infrequent use of the icemaker can cause these ice clumps. If the bucket is blocked or iced up near where the ice comes out, you can empty the ice from the bucket and run hot water through it until all ice is melted.
