Q: QuestionI had this product installed around 24 hours ago. we have left it nearly empty as we wait for it to reach temp, but it hasn't coed at all so far. We didn't have the water line installed, but I can't imagine that is keeping it from cooling. Any suggestions

• A:Answer Hi Quinten - Thanks for reaching out to us regarding your new refrigerator. When a refrigerator or freezer is first installed, allow 24 hours for it to stabilize to normal operating temperatures. Some cooling should be obvious in the freezer within approximately one hour. The recommended initial temperatures are 37 degrees F in the fresh food compartment, and 0 degrees F in the freezer. If in Demo Mode, try deactivating. Press and hold REFRIGERATOR + FREEZER + CRUSHED ICE buttons simultaneously for 7 seconds. You can also reset the electronics by unplugging or turning off power at the circuit breaker for a few minutes. If there is no sign of cooling within the first 24 hours, we recommend service. Q: QuestionWhat color are the handles on the Black Slate model? Are they shiny? My other appliances are high gloss black...looking for opinions if this black slate would look ok with my other appliances. I can't find this model on display nearby.

• A:Answer Hi Lena - This model is also available in Black (GFE28GGKBB) with high gloss finish and black gloss handles. You may want to consider this model to match your other high gloss black appliances. The Black Slate model (GFE28GELDS) has black brushed stainless handles. Q: QuestionHow do I turn the temperature on the freezer down. I hit the freezer panel and it shows the temperature and when I hit it again it only goes higher I want it lower than 5 degrees. How do I go lower on the panel?

• A:Answer The temperature decreases by one degree and a tone sounds with each press of the button. Once the lowest temperature is reached (34 degrees for the refrigerator and -6 degrees for the freezer), upon the next button press the temperature will jump to the highest setting (42 degrees for the refrigerator and 6 degrees for the freezer). Additional button presses will continue to lower the temperature by one degree until the desired temperature is reached. To learn more, see the “Changing the Temperature for Control Styles B and C” on page 10 of the Owner’s Manual, which can be viewed at the bottom of the Features tab on the product page of the Best Buy website. Q: QuestionJust purchased the the 36" GE Ft. French Door Refrigerator GFE28GELIDS and the ice maker makes a knocking noise when it is making ice and getting ice build up around seal on right side of freezer. Freezer not over filled w/food. Any suggestions?

• A:Answer Hi John - Optional IM5D does not have an On/Off switch. You will use the "Icemaker" button on the exterior control panel to turn either icemaker On/Off. The options are Ice Top On/Off / Ice Bottom On/Off.
