Hi there, thanks for reaching out! We're finding that this unit, to be installed properly, needs to have a 27" wide cabinet. So long as the cutout dimensions are followed, a 30" wide cabinet would work just fine. We would recommend taking a look at the installation instructions for the unit for the cutout space needed.
