  • QuestionThe racks inside the oven fit very tight. It's very difficult to slide the racks out and they scrape the side of the oven. Is this normal?

    Asked by gmd.

    • Answer Unfortunately, it is normal. New GE 30" double oven installed this weekend. Racks have to be forced in, and scratched the crap out of the sides. I've contacted them and asked for new racks and/or to compensate me for devaluing the oven before its even been used.

  • QuestionPlease help... After my GE wall oven (1 yr Old) reached 350,degrees, I opened the oven door, and did notice fan slowing down. However, I put on oven light, and fan is NOT going around while something is baking?? Is this normal???

    Asked by devi.

    • Answer Hey there, and thanks for taking the time to reach out to us. We hate to hear you are unsure whether the fan in your wall oven is functioning normally, and know that would be a concern. The fan will turn on and off during the cooking cycle, depending on the cooking mode that has been selected. Both the fan and the heating elements are run at certain times to create the optimal heat distribution for an even bake performance. The fan and heating elements will also shut off when the door is opened. What you are seeing is therefore likely normal, but if you think the fan is functioning in an unusual way or your food is being negatively impacted, our service department is available at 1-800-432-2737. We hope this information helps to clarify the matter, and are available for any other questions or concerns. Best wishes! -Sarah@GEA

    Asked by Kb.

    • Answer Hi there! We appreciate your question and recent purchase. We're sorry that your range is not turning off whenever you press Cancel/Off. We see how this can be frustrating. This control cancels ALL oven operations except the clock and timer. If it is not doing this, we recommend scheduling a service appointment. • QuestionHow long does it take to heat up to 400°?

    Asked by BirdLover.

    • Answer Hi BirdLover! Thank you for your question! Preheating is very important when baking at temperatures above 275 degrees or when baking items with short cooking times, such as cakes, cookies, biscuits and other pastries. Although preheating is not needed for meats, poultry, casseroles, when roasting or when cooking complete meals, it is recommended. During Preheat, the Bake and Broil elements come on to quickly heat the oven. - Some ranges and wall ovens have Preheat indicator lights or have a Preheat signal to let you know when to place the food in oven. There are two types of Preheat: -Preheat signals when the set temperature is reached: This is found most often on models with a preheat indicator light, but also on some models with a beep. Preheat takes approximately 10-20 minutes depending on model. -Preheat signals when the temperature is hot enough to add food: Found on newer models with an audible Preheat signal. Preheat will signal at about 5-7 minutes. The oven is not at the set temperature; however, the oven is hot enough to add most items that require a pre-heated oven. -For those models that do not have a Preheat indicator light, wait approximately 10-20 minutes to allow oven to preheat. Time will vary depending on your model. We hope that this helps! Stay safe. -Michael

  • QuestionFree installation is included?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer We bought this Oven 0n 9/29, it has not yet been installed by Best Buy and after two "systemic errors" regarding appointments and more, we were finally informed last night on 11/19 that they in fact are unable to install and we would have to arrange ourselves. Meanwhile they have been paid and the price we paid has dropped by $200. This is not the way for Best Buy to maintain a customer. No help at all from them!!
