Q: QuestionI want to replace a ductless range hood. Cant find one that takes the air up faster. The smoke Detector goes off quite a bit. The one we had just bought doesn’t make enough noise and does not seem to pull up the air as fast.
Asked by Lam.
This question was asked about the related product: GE - 30 inches - Convertible - Under cabinet Range Hood - Stainless Steel
- A:Answer Hi Lam - Non-Vented hoods do not have a CFM rating. Air is pulled up through the hood, forced through a filter, and back out into the same room. Since the air is simply being circulated, there is no need for the measurement of air flow. "CFM" (cubic feet per minute) is the measurement of the exchange of air from one area to another. Vented Hoods have CFM ratings. In order to remove the air faster, the hood would need to be vented outdoors. Thanks for your interest in GE! -Emelea

Q: QuestionI need to know if this hood is ventless I do not have pipes or anything. I'm only interested in the Slate color thank you
Asked by Kath.
- A:Answer We have the slate one and it has the option to be vented or ventless. There are knockouts that can be used to make it vented, however it comes set up to be ventless for recirculation into the kitchen. It does NOT come with the charcoal filter though. Q: QuestionHaving problems removing light bulbs, what type is used and how do I remove them.
Asked by Lady.
This question was asked about the related product: GE - 30 inches - Convertible - Under cabinet Range Hood - Stainless Steel
- A:Answer Hi - The range hood is equipped with halogen bulbs (110V, 35W - GU10). Before attempting to replace the lights, make sure that the light switch is turned off. Rotate light counterclockwise to unlock and pull out. Wearing latex gloves may offer a better grip. Replace with new light of same type, making sure pins are inserted properly into the sockets of the lamp holder and turn clockwise to lock.
