Q: QuestionWhat are the BTUs when this unit is converted to LP GasI asked this once and the question/answer was not posted. I understand there is a loss when converting and have read it is about 30% which is still better than the LG stove I plan to return

- A:Answer Hello, Thank you for your interest in the GE Freestanding Double Oven Gas Range model JGB850SEFSS. Yes, Using LP (liquid propane) gas instead of natural will lower the BTU* output, thus slowing the cooking process. The main reason is simply when converting to LP gas from Natural gas you use a reduced size orifice. LP is a heavier fuel to combust, and the reduced orifices are used in order to prevent large flames and soot issues. As a result, BTU rating does decrease noticeably on the larger burners but is not as noticeable on the smaller burners. POWER / RATINGS Bake/Broiler BTU Rating - LP (000's BTU's) 10.0 / 10.0 - Upper; 13.5 / 0.0 - Lower Top Burner BTU Rating - LP (000's BTU's) (1) 11.0; (1) 9.1; (1) 9.5; (1) 5.0; (1) 6.0 Donna with GE
