“Child safe knobs? I have had a gas cooktop in the past and I'm concerned about the knobs being at child level. Is there some security to prevent children from creating a gas emergency? Or to prevent an adult from just accidently leaning against the stove (since everyone always gathers in the kitchen) and turning on the gas without lighting the burner? I don't understand why gas stoves have knobs at child level and electric stoves have them at the top.”

I would not call them child safe. They're standard knobs. The door handle might deter only the youngest of walkers, if at all. Leaners would have the same old problem also.

There is there is no way on this range to lock the burner knobs to prevent them from being pushed in and turned. You may wish to check with specialty stores to see if there are knob covers or a shield to prevent the knobs from inadvertently being pushed in and turned. I hope this helps!
