• A:Answer Yes- mine was installed ductless. There is a recommended kit that you can purchase to do this, but my contractor configured the vent himself. It just requires a side vent to let the air out when you turn on the hood. You will not be venting smoke and odors out of your home, but the filters will help reduce smoke by catching and recycling the air.

Q: QuestionIn the cabinet preparation image on pg. 10 of the Owners Manual & Instructions, it has a 1" clearance for the width between the vent and the cabinet hood. Is that 1" necessary, or can it be less than 1"? Ours would be about 1/2", okay to use with screw D?

• A:Answer Hi there, thanks for asking! We recommend that you follow the installation instructions as they're written. There is 1" of clearance needed on either side of the vent hood and in its rear as see on page 10 of the installation instructions. It also requires 3" of clearance in the front. Q: QuestionMy parents had a repair guy tell them that all working vents should “suck” hard enough to hold up a paper towel. This one does not do that, even on the highest speed. Does that mean it was installed incorrectly or does this one work differently?

• A:Answer This vent hood must be installed between the 24" required minimum and 36" recommended maximum above the cooking surface. Always refer to the cooktop or range installation instructions for product-specific clearances. Note that the installation height should be measured from the cooking surface to the bottom edge of the cabinet surface. To learn more, see the Installation Clearances section on page 10 of the Owner’s Manual which can be viewed at the bottom of the Features tab on the product page of the Best Buy website.

Q: QuestionThe lights have gone out of my 36" GE Profile range hood. The part to fix it is very expensive. Can I replace the inside with this instead so I get a new blower as well, it seems like such a waste to throw the entire hood away?
