Hi Dogmom- This is Sue at GE Appliances. Thanks for your interest! Top-loading and front-loading GE Appliance washers with the HE label are defined as washers that use low-water levels in wash and rinse cycles. Note: The HE label does not mean energy efficient. Only washers that have earned the ENERGY STAR rating are independently certified to save energy. Some GE Appliance washer models have the "HE" label on the control panel and other models do not. However, GE Appliances recommends HE (High Efficiency) detergent be used in all of our washers (past and present models) for optimum wash performance. HE detergent works best with the lower water levels used in all modern washing machines and cleans just as well as standard detergents regardless of the machine type or age. Our GE® 3.8 DOE CU. FT. CAPACITY STAINLESS STEEL BASKET GTW330ASKWW does not have "HE" on the control panel (Matching dryers:GTD33EASKWW, GTD33GASKWW GAS). Thanks for checking with us!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This machine is not considered a HE washing machine.
