“Does the range require a exhaust outlet for connection or does the fan at the back just exit out the vent at the top of the oven? I assume that it does not require a separate exhaust vent, but not sure.”

This particular unit does not require an exhaust outlet. I do not have one in my kitchen and this unit has worked great since I purchased and installed it. It is perfect for my needs and I would recommend it.

Please try again later.Hi - On Slide-in ranges models with a vent strip at the back of the cooktop, the ovens vents from the left or right side of the vent strip. make sure no pots or other items are blocking the vent. Slide-in ranges models without a vent strip vent, out of the top of the door. This can make the front of the cooktop warm. Does not require a separate exhaust outlet or assembly. Thanks, Kaye@GE
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The range itself does NOT have an exhaust vent. However we also purchased a over the range GE microwave which does operate as a hood vent and it is vented with a connection to the outside. Hope that helps.
