• No it doesn’t drain after opening the lid. It will drain if it’s paused or the lid is open longer than 15 minutes

• No the water does not drain out it pause till your ready your done to close top lid and press to unpause start.

• I think I understand what you are asking and not it does not drain. You can pause and change cycles or even add more clothes. I love this machine. It doesn’t lock the door only when it begins to spin it locks. Sorry I got carried away.
