• Yes, it does have short cycle and we disposed of the old one at our local recycling center. $25 bucks in our pocket.

• It has a Quick Wash cycle. Very convenient and takes about 24 minutes from fill time to end of cycle. I paid $50 for the delivery men to haul away my previous one.
