You might check the documents that came with your washer, and it explains the different agitation cycle. Without the center spindle, the agitation comes about by a flat rotar at the bottom of the tub. I am no expert, but my new washer has done quite well with this new agitation method in the first weeks. Again, check some of the documents that came with your GE washer.

The Deep Clean cycle’s duration on the GTW500 model, assuming an average size mixed load, warm water temperature selection, normal soil level selection, and no options selected, would be approximately 42 minutes.
