“I recently got the JGBS30DEKWW but I can’t get it to bake it only has a broil label the bottom of my cakes keep getting burnt while the top isn’t cooked how do I get it to bake and not just broil?”

Hey Danay! Congratulations on your new range. We appreciate you taking a moment to reach out to us. We're sorry you're having a difficult time with your oven controls. We know how frustrating it is to burn anything, especially a cake, and we're happy to help. You should be able to bake foods by pressing the Bake button on your range. The upper heating element is the broiler and this provides direct heat similar to a grill. Many people use their broiling feature to brown or caramelize foods. We suggest making sure you have selected the correct cooking mode at the right temperatures before contacting service. If you still believe you're having temperature issues, you can take advantage of the warranty and schedule service with a certified GEA technician by calling GE Appliance Service at 1-800-GECares (1-800-432-2737).
