Q: QuestionI bought this stove and converted to propane. Fairly easy if one follows the simple instructions. The stove (JGB BS30DEKWW), does not have the gas-input rating visible can you tell me what it is for this stove?

• A:Answer Yes they take the old stove out for a few I believe it was $19.99., it is listed as a line item if you are purchasing online. Also there is a $62 fee for state law for gas ??? and $180 fee possibly if your lines need to be hooked up, told us the day of delivery ??? Just to let you know so you will be aware because neither fee was mentioned too me in the beginning when I purchased my dad’s stove. What if we didn’t have the money they would have taken stove back, Really Bad Business.

Q: QuestionWill the oven work without Electricity?

• A:Answer Hi DANN - The range has an electronic ignition system and requires a 120volt; 15Amp electrical connection. The automatic pilotless ignition (also called automatic electric or automatic electronic ignition) eliminates the need to light the burners. It also saves money by using less gas than a standing pilot range. Because this system has no standing pilot light, no gas is being used unless it is needed. With the spark igniter system, electricity simply sparks when the control is turned to the LITE position. Gas is simultaneously released and ignites when it comes in contact with the spark. Should there be a power failure, the oven will not function but the burners may be lit with a match. Simply hold the match near the burner, turn the control to LITE. Exercise extreme caution when lighting the burners in this manner. The glo-bar in the oven will cycle on and off with the oven temperature. When it cycles on to heat, the gas valve opens and the gas is ignited. When the oven is at temperature, the gas valve closes there are no longer flames. You only uses gas and see flames in the oven when the oven is actively heating. Keep in touch! Sue

• A:Answer Hi Claribel - Thanks for choosing GE! You can certainly bake in your new gas range. The numbers (200-500) on the Oven Temp knob represent Bake temperatures. Turn the Oven Temp knob to select the desired bake temperature or turn to Broil when broiling is desired. See pages 10 and 12 of the Use and Care Manual: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-2000315-1.pdf - Also, when the model is manufactured, these extra letters/numbers are placed on the appliance rating plate and product registration card.
