A:AnswerHi there, Arod - Great question! Yes, all of our gas cooking appliances come ready to be connected to natural gas and also come with an LP conversion kit to connect to LP (Liquid Propane). We recommend a qualified installer or servicer convert the gas range to the proper gas supply needed. Thanks so much for checking! -Mikayla

A:AnswerHi,
Thanks for asking! We appreciate your interest in this model and we'd be happy to answer your question. If there is a power failure the oven will be inoperable and we do not recommend trying to use it. The surface burners can be lit manually if there is no electricity. You can find this information on page 7 in the User manual. We've provided a link below:

In this manual you will find that the burners can be turned down to a simmer as well. Hope this helps. Have a wonderful day!

A:AnswerHello Lynnd - Thank you and your grandmother for being part of the GE Appliances family. For a range like this, the typical preheat time is approximately 15-20 minutes. However, this can vary due to many factors such as the amount of racks in the oven and the starting and surrounding temperature. Please let us know if you have any more questions. - John@GEA
A:AnswerHello and thank you for reaching out about this great range. Model JGBS60DEKWW weighs approximately 150 lbs. Please let us know if you have any more questions. - John@GEA
A:AnswerHi mom86, thanks for reaching out to us! We believe that the part you're describing is a Range Temperature Sensor. The part number that is connected to that part for your particular model is: WB20K10015. As for the gas valve, which control the on/off flow of gas, it is normally located in the rear of the range. We hope that this helps and that you're staying safe. -Michael
A:AnswerYes. You do need an outlet for the control panel. Without it
, you dont have an oven. It allows you to set the oven temp and turns it on to pre - heat and so on. As for using an extension cord. You could but not recommended For safety reasons. Better to have an outlet installed by a licensed electrician. However , Consider this ; The one you are getting has a control knob for the oven. You never have to worry about it ( control panel ) going out. I love mine and the control panel works great. You get an oven light and a clock. You have to decide luxury and a chance it ( control panel ) may go out or plain jane and keep on cooking. If you do upgrade , I would consider a 5 year warranty. I hope I was helpful.
A:AnswerFirst , i have adjusted them pretty low with good results. This model is unique in that it has a large , 2 medium and a small burner for simmer. I have had no issues with simmering. Especially with the small burner.

A:AnswerHello. We appreciate your interest, and know how important matching your appliances can be. While we haven’t designed a specific microwave to go with the range, we do design our appliances so you have options to choose from if you’d like to have matching appearances. Our GE website can be used to view the various microwaves we have available, if necessary. We have several over-the-range models in white, such as JNM7196DKWW and JVM3160DFWW, that would match the look. If you prefer a countertop microwave, we also have various options of that type in white, like JES1657DMWW. We are confident one of those microwaves would be a good fit for your needs. We’re happy to help if you have any other inquiries or concerns – best wishes! -Sarah@GEA

A:AnswerHello there - We're happy to offer some insight here. This freestanding gas range has an electronic ignition, which eliminates the need to light the burners. It also saves money by using less gas than a standing pilot range (because this system has no standing pilot light, no gas is being used unless it is needed). We hope this answer suits you! If you have any questions moving forward, please reach out to us again. All the best, Kelsey@GEA
