• Home Depot and Lowes sell compatible stove tops. These are interchangeable with the ones from stove manufacturer.

• Hi ElleLacy - Thanks for sharing your evaluation with us. The grates do have a smoother finish than those on some of our other models. This grate design does not come in any other finish/design. Unfinished cast iron or aluminum cookware might provide more friction than hard-finished, enameled cookware. Keep in touch! Sue
