This doesn't have a preheat signal or bell to tell you the oven is preheated. We recommend setting your desired temperature and waiting at least 10 minutes before placing your food inside. Please refer to page 14 in your manual for adjusting the oven temperature if needed. Joyce@GEAppliances
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Patty, this is an old school appliance -- there is no memory chip of any kind. Consequently, nothing beeps or rings when the oven gets hot. The oven does not heat to a temperature certain because it has nothing to measure internal heat. If you want to heat to a specific temperature, you need to do what your grandmother did and buy an oven thermometer and place it inside the oven so you can read the thermometer temperature when you open the door. On the upside, this simple tech will serve you for 30 years without breaking down -- there is no computer chip that will mysteriously die.
