We appreciate your interest, and can advise the lock is generally meant to engage during the self-cleaning cycle because of the very high temperatures used. When the cycle is over and the oven cools below 600 degrees F, the door will unlock. It is not meant to lock during normal cooking. If it ever does engage the lock in that case, that would be because you were cooking at higher than normal temperatures for a long period of time; that is not the norm, but if it did happen you would simply need to turn off the oven and let it cool back to a safe temperature.
