Hi Val, thanks for your question! The Slate finish is different than a Black Stainless finish. Slate is a highly engineered, low-gloss matte metallic paint finish and will hold a magnet. This dark matte finish is inspired by the rich texture of stone. The sides, case and accent parts are Dorian Gray (dark gray). - Slate easily complements other appliances. It resists fingerprints and doesn't show dirt. To clean, wipe with a soft clean cloth using a mild household detergent then dry with a clean soft cloth. We hope that this helps! Stay safe. -Michael
