QuestionIs a center grate supplied with this range?

- Answer No, a center grate does not come with the unit but can be ordered separately. I bought the extra grate and leave it in place. My griddle stays in storage until needed.

Questionit says it is a self cleaning, steam cleaning oven, is it a true self cleaning oven, or steam cleaning, where you have to add water and wiper it clean? also, as a slide in range, does thte range top sit flush, or hang ove the counter top at all?

- Answer Self clean, steam clean is totally worthless. We replaced a Kitchen Aid with a new Kitchen Aid model selected by the remodeling decorator with no input from me. I made a prime rib roast that splattered fine droplets everywhere. THEN I read the manual on how to do the self clean and figured out this steam clean thing sounded sketchy. It is a disaster. It does not remove or loosen anything up and you are on your knees with oven cleaner cleaning the oven like 1958. I would not recommend any stove model that uses steam clean for the self clean process. They should stop making stoves with that type of "cleaning." I cook a lot! It is my thing so you can trust my opinion.

QuestionDoes the oven cook also as a conventional oven or is the only option convection baking?

- Answer It has setings for "bake", "convection bake", and "convection roast". Don't know the difference between the last two modes. I have used it on bake and convection bake, and it works fine. I love my oven. I got it about 4 months ago. And in answering your question, I noticed there is a "warm" setting for the oven. I never used it, but now I will.

QuestionIs there a light or some sort of indicator that shows when the oven reaches temperature? For example, will it show "preheat" while preheating then shut off when it gets to the selected temp? Or have a light that turns on or off?

- Answer The display has a "Pre" indicator when it is getting up to temperature. The display also shows the current temperature as it climbs. In addition, the Oven will chime when the preset temp has finally been reached.

Questiondo the knobs get hot when cooking? My current Frigidaire stove vented onto the top of stove and everything go really hot. Even without burners on - if you had pot just sitting on stove, because the oven was on - pan got super hot to the touch.

- Answer Hi chick - For regular daily maintenance, use mild soap (dish soap) and water. Cerama Bryte® Stainless Steel Appliance Cleaner can also be used on stainless steel exteriors. This can be purchased through GE Appliance Parts, 16 oz bottle Part number PM10X311 (Stainless Steel Brightener – 2 oz. WB02T10111). Also, for heavy soils, use a paste of baking soda and water while rubbing with a soft cloth. - Answer There is an entire button "Lock Controls" dedicated to this on the control panel. You hold it for 3 secs to toggle it on or off. It is under the "Time" button and to the left of "Clock"

QuestionWhat is the minimum and maximum temp for the oven. What temp is the 'warm' setting for the oven?

- Answer Hi Elbrecht - When setting the oven temperature on gas or electric ovens, there is a minimum and maximum temperature range for bake and broil. All ranges and wall ovens: 170-550 degrees F. Touch the WARM pad and then START and the oven automatically heats up to approximately 175-180 degrees to keep cooked foods hot and ready to serve for up to 3 hours. The Broil Hi-Lo pad gives you the capability of reducing the oven temperature during the broil function. It is featured on most electronic model ovens. Hi Broil or Broil (on models without a Hi/Lo feature): Functions at 550 degrees Fahrenheit. It gives a quicker broiling to sear in natural food juices. Recommended for thinner cuts of meat and/or foods you prefer less done on the interior. Lo Broil: Functions at 450 degrees Fahrenheit. It gives a slower broiling to ensure doneness without drying out the food. Recommended for thicker cuts of meat and/or foods you prefer cooked all the way through. Note: On gas models, the gas flame height is the same for Hi and Lo Broil. The flame will cycle off more often when set to Lo Broil. Keep in touch! Sue

QuestionIf there is a power outage can the burners be lit manually?

- Answer Hi chick - Yes! In the case of a power outage, you can light the surface burners with a match. Hold a lighted match to the burner, then turn the knob to the low position. Use extreme caution when lighting the burners this way. Consult the Owner's Manual. The oven is lit by electric ignition, eliminating the need for standing pilots. 1990 and newer gas ovens cannot be lit without power supplied to it. You might want to pair with matching GE® 1.9 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Sensor Microwave Oven JVM7195SKSS. Four-speed, 400-CFM venting fan system quickly removes smoke, steam and odors from the cooktop to keep kitchen air fresh and clean. - Answer Hi Rene- It is recommended that the exterior finish surfaces be treated similar to high-end coatings on automobiles. In order to avoid scratching or damaging the exterior finish surfaces, they should be cleaned with warm water and a mild soap or detergent solution and soft, clean cloth or microfiber cloth.
