• A:Answer The bucket can hold up to 15 pints. This unit will shut off automatically if the bucket is full or if the unit has reached your desired humidity level. If Nonstop is selected, the dehumidifier will operate continuously at its maximum dehumidification settings if attached to a hose to drain or until the bucket is full.

Q: QuestionDoes it come with a drain hose?

• A:Answer Model ADHE50BWF does not automatically come with a drain hose. It does have a hose connection that you can connect a garden hose to, if you'd like to drain through a hose instead of into the bucket. Information about setting the dehumidifier up to drain through a hose is available on page 7 of the manual. The manual is linked on Best Buy's product page for the model, at the bottom of the 'Features' section.

Q: QuestionWhat is noise decibel of this product

• A:Answer There is not a decibel rating for model ADHE50BWF. When the dehumidifier is running you will hear sounds such as compressor noise, a low fan noise, possible water dripping into the storage bucket and normal cycling on and off sounds.

Q: QuestionJust bought the GE 50 pt dehumidifier #ADHE50BWF. First day it did not drain to sump pump & filled the bucket. My previous dehumidifier I returned because it also stopped draining to sump pump (after 11 months) Hose seems fine & angled good. Hose prob?

• A:Answer You got it to work for 11 months! Lucky you. Probably a bad pump, but the unit will fill almost to the top of bucket before pumping.

Q: QuestionI just bought this and although it does remove a lot of water, it's motor is extremely loud and never shuts off. The smart setting doesn't work etither as far as shutting off when it reaches the right humidity. Did I get a defective one?

• A:Answer Mine runs much of the time during summer, but it should shutoff at some point. Maybe your basement is very humid. Also the humidistat is garbage. Sometimes the unit kicks on at 1% over the limit, sometimes 5 or 6%. It will break pretty soon anyway so you won't have to worry about it.

Q: QuestionHow long are these humidifiers supposed to last? We've had 2 of this 50 pint Energy Star dehumidifier and they only last about 2 years. We have a hose to a floor drain so we don't have to empty a bucket.

• A:Answer Absolutely criminal. I'm on my 3rd one of these, only one has lasted more than a year (18 months). Current one I purchased in August, ran for barely two months, then maybe ran it for a month the next summer. 3 months of usage in not a very humid location. GE doesn't "replace" the dehumidifier, there is one person with an answering machine that now will maybe give you call back for a rebate that's less than the replacement cost of a new unit. So I'm basically renting this machine for $50/year from GE. In addition to hours spent purchasing a new unit and dealing with the warranty. I'll do the warranty dance one more year, then spend a few more hundred on Abt for what I hope would be a better item.
