Q: QuestionI just hooked up my dryer today. When I turned it on it makes a lot of noise. Like something is rubbing or scraping. The noise is pretty loud not sure what to think, this is my first electric dryer.

• A:Answer I am not sure but assume so. You'd just need to ensure the vent pipe has enough length depending on how high your riser is. We installed just sitting on tile. I can't imagine anything wrong with using a riser.

Q: QuestionI’m not used to dryers. I’m assuming it drys by auto heat sense the top of the dial or you can choose time, the bottom of the dial. The right dial says cotton or casual. I have mixed cloths and am to lazy to separate. What is safe to in mixed condition.

• A:Answer The casual setting is medium heat and will dry the clothes without overheating the syntheic fabrics but will still dry the heavier cotton fabrics...it'll just take a little longer due to the lower heat setting of "casual" then that of the"cotton" setting which is high heat.

We do recommend using the rear exhaust cover plate if you plan to exhaust from the bottom or sides. It's part number is WE49X22606. Q: QuestionOur GE electric dryer all of a sudden started making a loud noise. It’s been getting very hot and melted the graphics on my sweatshirt. My husband made sure the venting was clear of debris so it’s not that. He even tried balancing the feet.

• A:Answer I had to purchase the dryer kit required with this dryer in order for the store to do the installation. I could not use the hose hookup in my application. If you are installing it yourself then you can purchase these items separately. The hose that Best Buy carries to the hard rigid hose and due to the limited space in my laundry area I had to have a more flexible hose. The installation crew went ahead and used the one I had and told me to return the one I was required to purchase.
