This unit will NOT sit flush to the back wall, and it has nothing to do with the electrical outlet. As others here have said, there are two bumps in the sheet metal towards the top, rear of the unit. The bumps are in the shape of large ant hills. I have attached a photo. I would appreciate an answer from GE that doesn't dismiss the question. This is NOT addressed in the installation instructions.... and again... this has nothing to do with the electrical hookup at the bottom.

According to the quick specs, you should use a flush mount outlet receptacle.
