A:AnswerThe mounting instructions call for a space at least 30 inches from stovetop to cabinet. The microwave itself is 16.5 inches, so you need at least 14.5 inches above stovetop. The distance from my countertop to the bottom of the upper cabinet is 36 inches. My stovetop grate is about 1 inch above the countertop. Installed I ended up with about 19 inches from top of stove to bottom of microwave. The bottom of the microwave sits about 2 inches above the bottom of the cabinets on each side. I've no problems using stovetop or getting good venting.

A:AnswerHello Mongo. This type of microwave as in over the range cannot be built into a cabinet using an optional trim kit. It is designed to be hung above a range or cooktop. You can then vent out using ductwork or back into kitchen using the recirculating installation. If you have a range or cooktop below this microwave then you can hang above following the installs and if you do not have ductwork outside your home then you will need to set up as recirculating per the installs of the microwave. Hope this helps in making your decision. Geoff@GEA
A:AnswerHi there - Thanks for reaching out about this! We hate to hear that your microwave's vent is working properly and we're happy to help. The over-the-range microwave vent system should properly remove most heat, steam, and smoke from the cooktop. If boiling or simmering for long periods of time on the front burners, the vent will not always be capable of capturing all of the excess steam. It may be necessary to use the back burners in this case. Turn the vent fan on HIGH and hold a tissue or paper towel under the vent area. The suction should hold the tissue or paper towel in place. Check for proper installation of the fan ductwork. If your microwave is vented internally we recommend replacing the charcoal filter every 6-12 months depending on usage. If the above doesn't resolve the issue, service may be needed. You can schedule an appointment by calling 1-800-432-2737. We hope this helps! -Mikayla@GEA

A:AnswerHi there, we appreciate you reaching out to us. The preheat time to 350 degrees F is approximately 10-15 minutes. We hope that's the information you were seeking and we're wishing you the best. - Guy@GEA
A:AnswerHi - While we do not provide the width dimension at a 90 degree opening, the installation instructions do indicate you would need to provide a minimum distance of 1/2" from door hinge side to adjacent wall. This 1/2" dimension requirement would allow for proper opening of the door. We do hope you'll choose GE for your RV. All our best! Vikki@GEA
A:AnswerHello - Thanks for your interest; we are happy to help! The exterior of this microwave is not stainless steel. The metal has a slate finish. We hope this helps. Thanks for checking. Olga@GEA
A:AnswerHi there,
Thanks so much for reaching out. We'll be happy to answer! Steam or vapor escaping from around the door is a normal function. This does not mean that the unit is leaking microwave energy. The door is designed to allow heat and steam to escape to prevent the overheating of the unit. It is normal to see some condensation between the door panels, unless the condensation does not dissipate within a reasonable amount of time. We hope this helps! Mike@GEA
A:AnswerHello,
Good question! We appreciate your loyalty to GE Appliances and we'd like to help. We found that the interior of this model has a stainless steel finish. In the photos it does seem a dark grey, but we believe this is another color option of the same model. We apologize for this confusion, and we thank you for making us aware of this. Let us know if you have any other questions. Have an amazing day!
