I was told that microwave ovens are not really built in units. My oven is a GE model manufactured as a countertop model. They do sell a trim kit for it. It is designed to overlap my cabinet much like a picture frame made of stainless steel. So it does look like a built in unit without really being one. To get the. Best fit I hired a cabinet maker. The finished unit looks great.
