- A: AnswerHi Joe- Thanks for continuing to make GE Appliances a part of your home! The most comparable model is our GE Profile™ Series 2.2 Cu. Ft. Countertop Microwave Oven PEB7227DLWW (24 1/8"W x 14"H x 19 3/4"D). This model is compatible with GE® Optional 30" Built-In Trim Kit JX7230DLWW and GE® Optional 27" Built-In Trim Kit JX7227DLWW. The only difference between the 27" and 30" trim kit is the trim frame. If the microwave is installed over a 27" or 30" wall oven, be sure to match the trim kit width to the oven. Trim kits are not interchangeable. A trim kit consists of the trim frame, as well as an upper, lower, and rear duct that attaches to and encases the microwave inside the cabinet cut-out. It is important to only use the trim kit designed for that model. We suggest to view the Quick Specs at the following link for more details including cabinet cutout dimensions: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=PEB7227DL_R2_17.pdf - Thanks for reaching out to us. Enjoy! SUEatGEA

Q: QuestionI’m looking for a built in replacement for model # JE1860BH 03 with trim kit. Thanks,(2 answers)
A: AnswerThe model is not the problem. The size of your cabinet and the size of the old trim that goes over the microwave, I found, is more of a problem. Measure the old microwaves dimensions, Height, Width, and length or depth. But height and width is most important because your cabinet may be limited in these two dimensions. The depth normally will not be a problem. Then measure the new microwave you want to purchase and try to get one the same height and width so your old trim will fit the new microwave. Unless you do not care what the new trim you have to purchase for the new microwave looks like. Then all you have to worry about is will the new microwave fit into your cabinet space.Answered by evenpar
- A: AnswerHi there - this is a great question! We're sorry to hear that your previous microwave died after 21 years, but we are glad you're reaching out to inquire about a new one! This model, #PEB7227DLBB, is comparable to your other microwave in overall height and overall width, as well as microwave watts (it is a bit larger in overall depth, at 19.75" compared to 17.8"). It's also important to know what size trim kit you have, though. The two size options are 27" and 30" and those trim kit model numbers for the new microwave are JX7227DLBB and JX7230DLBB, respectively. We hope this helps! Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. Best, Kelsey@GEA

Good Microwave. Loads of room and features.
We bought this to replace a similar model that had the stainless steel trim. The old one just started failing from time to time (would spin, but it would not heat). This one has virtually the same features. It did require a new mounting setup, but we were able to use the old "stainless" outer trim (and it looks good). Installation was not difficult, but you will want to take a little care to make sure the mounting brackets are properly positioned. It heats very well (at least as well as the last one), and it's not at all noisy. The buttons are very responsive. The only problem we have is that it is difficult to read the labels on the buttons. At first glance, you would think it would be clear, but it's only clear if you are pretty much looking straight at it. Ours is mounted under the counter, so we have to crouch to read them. The old one was not as difficult. Thankfully, they are in the same layout, so we were used to their position.

So far so bueno
It looks fine over my wall oven, which is a different brand. I am still getting used to it, and so far I have only one complaint: I don’t trust the “Sensor Cooking” buttons. This is based solely on my attempts to reheat cold mugs of coffee. Instead of being reheated, the coffee ends up literally boiling hot. So hot that oven mitts need to be used to pull the coffee mug out! In fact, through trial and error I have discovered that it just takes 25 seconds on “cook time” to reheat my coffee in a mug. I don’t trust the other “sensor cooking” buttons to bake a potato or a vegetable, for example, so I’m not using them. I’m keeping a really close eye on the Defrost button, too.
