A:AnswerHello DVW123 - We are very sorry to hear your microwave is not working properly. This is unexpected and we would be happy to help. Model PEB7227DLBB will not work with the same trim kit. However, we recommend PEB7227ANDD as it is compatible with the same trim kits as your current trim kit. Thanks! - JB
A:AnswerHi Joe- Thanks for continuing to make GE Appliances a part of your home! The most comparable model is our GE Profile™ Series 2.2 Cu. Ft. Countertop Microwave Oven PEB7227DLWW (24 1/8"W x 14"H x 19 3/4"D). This model is compatible with GE® Optional 30" Built-In Trim Kit JX7230DLWW and GE® Optional 27" Built-In Trim Kit JX7227DLWW. The only difference between the 27" and 30" trim kit is the trim frame. If the microwave is installed over a 27" or 30" wall oven, be sure to match the trim kit width to the oven. Trim kits are not interchangeable. A trim kit consists of the trim frame, as well as an upper, lower, and rear duct that attaches to and encases the microwave inside the cabinet cut-out. It is important to only use the trim kit designed for that model. We suggest to view the Quick Specs at the following link for more details including cabinet cutout dimensions: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=PEB7227DL_R2_17.pdf - Thanks for reaching out to us. A:AnswerThe model is not the problem. The size of your cabinet and the size of the old trim that goes over the microwave, I found, is more of a problem. Measure the old microwaves dimensions, Height, Width, and length or depth. But height and width is most important because your cabinet may be limited in these two dimensions. The depth normally will not be a problem. Then measure the new microwave you want to purchase and try to get one the same height and width so your old trim will fit the new microwave. Unless you do not care what the new trim you have to purchase for the new microwave looks like. Then all you have to worry about is will the new microwave fit into your cabinet space.
A:AnswerHey there, and thanks for checking in. We can advise model PEB7227DLBB has two compatible trim kit options, depending on the size needed - JX7227DLBB and JX7230DLBB. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and we’ll have our team review the information on the website; we certainly always want to make sure our consumers are getting accurate information. If you have any other questions or concerns, we’re happy to offer assistance any time – thanks again! -Sarah@GEA
A:AnswerGreetings,

A:AnswerHi there - this is a great question! We're sorry to hear that your previous microwave died after 21 years, but we are glad you're reaching out to inquire about a new one! This model, #PEB7227DLBB, is comparable to your other microwave in overall height and overall width, as well as microwave watts (it is a bit larger in overall depth, at 19.75" compared to 17.8"). It's also important to know what size trim kit you have, though. The two size options are 27" and 30" and those trim kit model numbers for the new microwave are JX7227DLBB and JX7230DLBB, respectively. We hope this helps! Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. Best, Kelsey@GEA
A:AnswerNo, you need to purchase separately., and you must purchase the set specifically for this microwave. Other ovens even from GE each seem to have their own built in kit.
A:AnswerHey Roger. My replacement is being delivered in about 30 mins. I can let you know how it works out. This one was the closest one I could find to what I had which was 20 years old. It took 2 months for it to come in.
A:AnswerHi Cassie, This is Lisa from GE Appliances.
Thank you for your interest. I am happy to help. Over the range microwaves are installed between cabinets, and can be installed against a wall. They cannot be used on a counter or shelf or a closed cabinet or cut-out space where the bottom is covered.
Built in microwaves can be installed on the counter as long as 3 inches are provide on the sides and top and one inch in the rear. The front should sit at least 3 or more inches back on the counter to avoid tipping.
They can also be built into a cabinet with a trim kit. Microwave trim kits are designed to provide a built-in look while also providing air flow necessary to the microwave. A trim kit consists of the trim frame, as well as ducts that encase and attach to the microwave inside the cabinet cut-out. It is important to only use the trim kit designed for that model. I hope this helps. Thank you for choosing GE Appliances.
A:AnswerIt should work, I replaced the same microwave and I also had existing trim kit from my previous microwave, as long as it is the same model type should work
A:AnswerOur microwave died after 2 years! GE profile has a web site with new models. We found one exactly the same size as our old one. The old trim kit fit on the one. Best Buy employee was very helpful and they can help you with making the right selection.
A:Answernew microwave is just enough wider and longer that the old does not fit. Screw holes are not the same and the bases design is taller in places. I altered my old one and made it work but it sticks out about 1 inch more than the old. Biggest problem is it is deeper than the old one and sets higher on the base unless you do some creative bending.
I needed mine asap for the holiday meal so I made it work.

A:AnswerHi TEBaker - We certainly appreciate your loyalty and glad to help! We were unable to identify Model Number DE68-40938A. Please double check the number. PEB7227DLBB can be installed in a 27" or 30" wide cabinet with GE® Required 27" Built-In Trim Kit JX7227DLBB or GE® Required 30" Built-In Trim Kit JX7230DLBB (sold separately). You would need to replace the entire double oven. You can also reach out to us at GEAppliances.com. We are always eager to help. Sue
A:AnswerNo idea about size - but I would buy a different microwave! This one is TERRIBLE! The latch door opener broke within first 2 weeks of use - right out of the box - very hard to push to open it, then after they came out to fix it, it broke while the repair guy was here, so had to order all new front door, front panel and latch - after, they scheduled me two times, and I waited all day for technician, I called and they had cancelled my order..so I had to reschedule again - after that time, guy comes out and fixes it with all their new parts, and it would open, but still making the same catching feeling, then broke again, so he took some of the old parts, and mixed them with the new parts, and got it working....I am sure it will break again, as all the parts are cheap and made of plastic gears.... I know because I watched him take it apart and put it back together - We have a spare microwave in garage from Walmart that opens and closes great and will use that when it breaks again. Only reason I ordered this one was because I have a built in space and have to accommodate that.
A:AnswerYou will most likely need to purchase a new trim kit to match the new microwave. We replaced a GE microwave model that was only 4 years old and the new replacement (the GE model recommended to replace it) was not compatible with the trim kit. The metal brackets would not work with the new microwave. Good news, though. The new trim kit works well and is designed to be much more sturdy than the old one we replaced. We purchased the GE microwave PEB7227SLSS and the trim kit JX7230SLSS. They are compatible and a great option for replacement.
