A:AnswerYes to both questions. There is a small lever that you pull, then lift up the tray. I have never had the ice fall out. Not sure I'm really answering your question though. The ice tray is in the refrigerator portion (top left door), so you don't don't open the freezer door to get to the ice tray. Maybe that was just on your Samsung.

A:AnswerTo replace the filter, you will open the filter door and pulling on the bottom of the cartridge to disengage it from the filter clips. Swing the cartridge outward until you hear the 'click' of the cartridge holder engaging with the bracket. Twist the cartridge one-quarter turn counter-clockwise. After turning, pull the cartridge away from the cartridge holder to remove it.
