Too low of a temperature for the refrigerator will freeze your fresh fruits/vegetables (and use more energy). Too high of a temperature can shorten the shelf life of dairy, fresh meat and fruits/vegetables. After installation, allow 24 hours for temperature to reach presets.

- Answer Hi Jerry- Thanks for viewing our GE Profile Series! As of January 1994, all GE branded refrigerators moved from a rotary compressor to a reciprocating compressors. Additionally, none of our refrigerators use linear (inverter) compressors. A reciprocating compressor, also known as a Scotch Yoke compressor, is designed to give years of reliable service. The main component of a refrigerator is the compressor so high quality is very important. This type of compressor consists of a reciprocating piston operating in a stationary cylinder. - Answer Hi Mike - Bottom freezer and French door refrigerators have a water reservoir coil in the fresh food section that holds 12 - 24 oz. of water (PFE28KSKSS 12 oz). The water is chilled and stored until it is needed. Since the reservoir is in the fresh food section, the water will not be ice-cold. The first time the dispenser is used, the chilled water lever may need to be pressed for two to three minutes to fill the reservoir for the first time. It takes approximately seven seconds to fill an eight ounce glass with water. After the 12 oz. of cold water is dispensed, any additional water dispensed will not be chilled until the water in the coil tubing has had time to chill again. Thanks for choosing GE Profile! Sue

- Answer Yes. Inside the left door, there is a handle. Pull it down, open, ice is in the bin. It does not make much to fill up the bin. You may consider adding a second ice maker for in the freezer.

- Answer Hello Rufus - We hope you are enjoying your Profile refrigerator. The temperature in the fresh food section can range from 34-42 degrees F and the freezer will reach -5 to +8 degrees F. You can set the temperature by pressing the Freezer or Fridge button on the control panel to raise the temperature by one degree. When the setting reaches its top setting, it will cycle back down to the lowest. Keep in touch! - John@GEA

- Answer to set it vertical in the opening, 10 3/4". You can angle it slightly and fill a taller water bottle.
