No it does not recirculate the air. The air needs to be piped outside of the house.

Please try again later.The cooktop is designed to vent out the air so you need a vent pipe below the cooktop, Also note that the cooktop vent exit is a 4 by 10 rectangular so you may need a transition to a 6 inch round vent pipe. Unless the vent pipe happens to be exactly under the cooktop plenum you need to plump additional transitions.
