A:AnswerTo replace the filter, you will open the filter door and pulling on the bottom of the cartridge to disengage it from the filter clips. Swing the cartridge outward until you hear the 'click' of the cartridge holder engaging with the bracket. Twist the cartridge one-quarter turn counter-clockwise. After turning, pull the cartridge away from the cartridge holder to remove it. The RPWFE water filter uses radio frequency identification (RFID) to detect leaks and monitor the filter status. Please make sure the filter is installed correctly, that you're using a genuine GE Appliances RPWFE filter, and that there are no leaks using the instructions in the "Water Filter Cartridge - RPWFE" section on pg. 17 of the Owner's Manual. If it is frosting up or freezing, it could mean that the temperature is set too low as well. A:AnswerThe water filter that is required is the RPWFE, which has a "chip" on it. The chip tells the refrigerator when to signal a change for the filter - every 6 months or 170 gallons of water and detects leaks. There is a filter without the chip, RPWF. Some refrigerators can take either filter. I believe that this GE model only takes the chipped one, RPWFE. I thought about switching to the cheaper filter, without the chip because the water line going to the fridge comes from my Reverse Osmosis water system, already highly purified. I think the unchipped filter will shut the water and ice functions down, like it did for you. Check your cartridge for the correct model, if it is fine, call GE support.

A:AnswerYes, you have room as it requires an eighth inch clearance on each side and 2 inches for the back. Too close for me, chance of dinging up the wall, fridge or both when it moving it to clean. I spent plenty of money to move cabinets a few inches to ensure the fridge could "breathe".
A:AnswerI also have a wall on one side with a closet. If the refrigerator is away from the back wall the required 2", the door will open as far as it can, clears the refrigerator end panel and the wall, and the bins can be removed without any issues. I also have an inch and half of space next to the wall and hugged the refrigerator end panel/counter on the other side. I believe you will need a full 135 degrees to get bins/drawer removed. They will pull out to access everything in the back of the drawers at 90 degrees. If you have a wall along side, plan on another 15 1/2" of space to fully open the door. A friend has this same refrigerator and wishes she had a small counter on the wall side as it does not open fully, and the window moulding is getting scratched from the fridge. My second picture shows the inside opened up, the 3rd & 4th show how far the door can open and not hit my closet door or the wall. You can see the light from inside the fridge along the door edge.
A:AnswerWas everything cold when it went in the fridge? It may take a day or two before it finally gets to the correct temperature. Try not to open the doors for a few hours and see if the temp goes down. If not, you will have to make an appointment for a service call. Mine got to 37 degrees in 2 days' time. My food was stored in my basement fridge so I could empty the old one before this one came. Even though I tried to be efficient putting the food into the new fridge, the food still warmed up a bit and having the doors open didn't help.
