- Answer We recommend trying an electronic reset, which can be done by unplugging the power cord for 2-3 hours, then plugging it back in. QuestionI’m seeing some of these at an auction house that are listed as new condition.. 2.0 new models, unused, so I’m not sure why. If I purchase this there and it is new, can I still use/purchase GE warranty even though I do not have a receipt from a store?

- Answer I just recently had this issue with "mush" ice. it turns out all it needed was a REALLY GOOD descaling from using hard water. It had started making this weird squealing noise and making the half melted ice. Once i read thru the manual and found out to properly descale it, i did. Except instead of letting it sit for 18 hours after running a cleaning cycle, i let it sit for 2 days, and the amount of scale that came out was gross. So, in my opinion, try that and see if it helps.

QuestionCan you hook up a water line to it so you don’t have to refill the reservoir? I got mine for Christmas and my husband said it was an “open box” from Best Buy. It was missing the side tank! I was going to go and buy one for $70, but then had this idea!

QuestionI have had 2 of the previous version As they aged more frequent cleaning was required due to a black film accumulation that became more and more frequent. Now they give black nasty ice. Has GE solved this problem?
