QuestionI have a PEM31SM3SS Microwave. It perfectly fits in the cabinet space. Now, I understand that GE does not make a replacement that has the dimensions necessary to fit my cabinet space. What the?!!! I need a recommendation that works!!!!!

- Answer Hello Phil, Thank you so much for reaching out. We're happy to provide a recommendation for a new microwave. Model PEM31SFSS is a fine replacement for PEM31SM3SS. The optional built in kits (JX827SFSS; JX830SFSS) can fit a 27" space or a 30" space. This model will fit the same cutout space as your current model. You will need to use the built in kits for this model since they are made for that model. This makes choosing a replacement a breeze. Please note however, that you will need to use the mounting kit that comes with the model. This is because the kit is made specifically for that model. QuestionNow wait a minute. Your product sheet shows the GE Profile PES7227SLSS is 13 1/2 inches high and GE's website says it's 14 inches high. In my last question I asked which one was correct. Your answer to me said it is 12 1/2 inches high. That can't be right

This is not provided with the unit but can be purchased separately. The trim kits for model PEM31SFSS are the 27" JX827SFSS or the 30" JX830SFSS. - Answer Hello Maria - Thank you for following up on replacing your microwave. The JX827SFSS is 27" wide from the outside edge of the trim. Both trim kits are used for the same size cutout. The distinguishing difference is the width of the sides of the trim. If this is installed above an oven, the trims are designed to match either 27 or 30 inch width ovens. - John@GEA

- Answer There is only one choice, the PEM31SFSS (may also be listed as PEM31SF4SS) There is a very small difference in the outside dimensions but the existing Trim Kit will work if you drill a couple of new holes.
