The height of this unit is listed as 14 inches. Does that include the rubber feet? I am replacing a GE Profile Model JE2160SF01. It has a Trim kit JX2130 with a height opening of 13 1/4 inches. I would like to reuse the trim kit. Thank you.   (3 Answers)

      Answer

Our original microwave was a GE Profile JE2160SF03 with trim kit JX2130SH. We replaced the microwave with PEB7226SFSS and used the old trim kit. It fit perfectly. All the holes matched. No problem and saved lots of money!

Hello - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. Model PEB7226SF1SS and PEB7226SFSS are the same model microwave. The actual model number on the rating plate may contain additional identifying numbers or letters in case parts need to be ordered in the future. These models are interchangeable. I hope this helps! Answer

It depends on your trim kit, as not all of the holes match up. The trim kits compatible with above model are JX7230SFSS and JX7227SFSS. Your model was compatible with trim kits JX1830 and JX1827 which were for 1.8 cubic foot microwaves.

I need to replace my unit , series JE1860SH, 12 3/4 by 24 inches. I do not see any GE that will fit exactly in my existing trim kit. I have to say that if there is not, I will not buy a GE microwave as I am no longer tied to the trim kit.   (1 Answer)

Hi MJ2409- We certainly appreciate your loyalty! GE Profile™ Series 2.2 Cu. Ft. Countertop Microwave Oven PEB7226SFSS is the comparable replacement model (Approximate Product Dimensions 24 1/8"W x 14"H x 19 3/4"D. It is compatible with GE® Optional 30" Built-In Trim Kit JX7230SFSS and GE® Optional 27" Built-In Trim Kit JX7227SFSS. Trim Kits are not interchangeable. A trim kit consists of the trim frame, as well as an upper, lower, and rear duct that attaches to and encases the microwave inside the cabinet cut-out. It is important to only use the trim kit designed for that model. The actual cabinet cutout requirement is the same for both models. Hi Jeff- Thank you for making GE Appliances a part of your home! We know you have choices and appreciate the trust you've placed in us. PEB7227SLSS (new) and PEB7226SFSS are the comparable models. However, you will need to purchase the appropriate trim kit since they are not interchangeable. PEB7227SLSS is compatible with 27" Built-In Kit JX7227SLSS and 30" Built-in Kit JX7230SLSS. Appearance upgrades on this new model include extended window, less noticeable gap between unit and trim, glass touch controls to match most wall oven controls. Hi Novice- We certainly appreciate your loyalty! While GE Profile™ Series PEB7226DFWW is the comparable model, cabinet modifications may required. It is compatible with GE® Optional 30" Built-In Trim Kit JX7230DFWW and GE® Optional 27" Built-In Trim Kit JX7227DFWW (The only difference between the 27" and 30" trim kit is the trim frame. If the microwave is installed over a 27" or 30" wall oven, be sure to match the trim kit width to the oven). A trim kit consists of the trim frame, as well as an upper, lower, and rear duct that attaches to and encases the microwave inside the cabinet cut-out. Trim kits are not interchangeable. It is important to only use the trim kit designed for that model. We suggest to view the Quick Specs at the following link for cutout requirements: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=240378_peb7226df_c2.pdf - You can also view the Trim Kit Installation Instructions online for complete details: https://www.myapstore.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-40727.pdf - We hope this is helpful. Our GE microwave Model # PEB7226SF1SS has stopped heating the food. This is installed under our Kitchen Island. Which new GE model will fit in the current opening? Can I remove the old and replace the new myself or I will have to get a prof. installer?   (1 Answer)

          • Answer

Hi MDRD-We certainly appreciate your loyalty and glad to offer assistance! If the microwave runs but is not heating, it could be one of many components. Make sure the “Timer” function was not inadvertently used. Check to ensure the is door closed firmly. Close it firmly, but do not slam. This confirms the engagement of the door's safety mechanisms. Also, GE Profile™ Series 2.2 Cu. Ft. Countertop Microwave Oven PEB7226SFSS is still a current model (same as PEB7226SF1SS). Installation of this appliance requires basic mechanical and electrical skills. We suggest to view the built-in trim kit installation instructions at the following link: https://www.myapstore.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-40727.pdf - These microwaves should not be installed lower than 36" above the floor.
