QuestionIs there any type of "governor" or stop we can put on the upper door? We have limited space and the door handle hits the counter, so I need something that will prevent it from opening that far.

QuestionIs this refrigerator really a manual defrost? The GE comparison site shows this refrigerator to have Frost Guard which is the same thing it shows for the other counter depth models. So is this a typo? May need to change my order before delivery.

- Answer Hi KKHouston- Model PYE22KSKSS is Frost-Free with Frost Guard. Frost Guard (Adaptive Defrost) means that the refrigerator will only defrost as needed. It accounts for door openings and usage to determine when it is necessary to defrost and how long the defrost cycle needs to run. If the refrigerator is not being frequently used (ex. family on vacation), it will not defrost as often. QuestionDoes anyone else hear a somewhat higher-pitch sound while the fridge is on but closed? It stops as soon as I open one of the doors, but as soon as I close the door, it sounds like a motor spinning up until it reaches that same, constant-pitched sound.

- Answer Hi Laut- Thanks for your purchase! You may hear the fans spinning at high speeds. This happens when the refrigerator is first plugged in, when the doors are opened frequently or when a large amount of food is added to the refrigerator or freezer compartments. The fans are helping to maintain the correct temperatures. The fans change speeds in order to provide optimal cooling and energy savings. Minimum distance between side of case and wall, in either direction, to allow doors to open fully (to remove drawers) is 16 1/8".
