“What size ids the pellet holder? How long does one "load" of pellets last at, say 175 degrees F”

It holds two cups of pellets, and you load them at the top. I did a two hour cook, and i maybe used half the pellets in the hopper. I’m not sure temperature would cause a variance in pellet usage, as the pellets are just for smoke generation - the heat comes from an electric element.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi there - we’re glad you checked with us! The hopper holds about 2 cups of pellets and lasts about 4 hours. That is also the default for when smoking will stop and go into cooking mode. Pellet usage is not dependent on Smoke level. Smoking can be restarted after the 4 hours by following instructions in the Step #3 section on page 21 of the manual (which is located in the Features tab on the Best Buy product page).
