Hi there, If you are shopping on a budget, we would recommend taking a look at some of the compact models that we offer. You can take a look at one that we found here: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-specs/GDE03GGKBB - As for the installation location, you can install it in a garage however your Owner's Manual states to not keep the unit in a location where the temperature will get blow 50 degrees F. This can cause issues with proper cooling. If you are looking for a full sized model, you can click on this one we found, here: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-specs/GTS18DTNRWW - This unit's installation instructions state to not install the unit in a location where the temperature is below 55 degrees F or where it is higher than 100 degrees F. This will cause issues with the unit's ability to cool properly.
