“are you certain that this refrigerator is made for under the counter application? Spec states free standing. I thought under the counter had to vent out the front.”

Hello Rick. Since this unit does not require clearance in the back and sides, it vents hot air to the front. Clearance required on the hinge side to allow the door to open and still be able to pull out the shelves: The door will swing a distance of 16 inches past the side of the unit. As long as the unit is flush with the cabinets in a non-wall installation no clearance is required around the hinge area. Thanks for checking. Olga
